The fine print
Refunds and cancellations
When an event is cancelled, moved, or you change your mind.
Last updated 26 October 2026.
There is nothing to send back
Every ticket on ElectroTickets is digital: a PDF with a QR code, emailed to the address you gave at checkout. Nothing is posted, couriered or collected, so there is no return, no shipping cost and no delivery address. If an organiser labels an event collect at box office, the ticket is handed over at the door — still nothing shipped.
Who you are buying from
The organiser, not us. ElectroTickets is the platform: we run the listings, take the payment and run the door, but the ticket is the organiser's to sell and theirs to refund. That is why a refund for a change of mind is theirs to grant, and why a cancelled event is theirs to answer for.
If the event is cancelled
Every paid order on it is refunded in full — the whole ticket price, back to the card that paid — and every ticket on it stops working at the door at the same moment. You do not have to ask, and you are not charged anything for it.
If the event is moved
The organiser must tell you, using the address your tickets were sent to. If the new date does not suit you, ask them for a refund and you get the full ticket price back — you are not obliged to accept a replacement date.
If you change your mind
Write to the organiser, using the contact details on the event page. They decide whether to refund, and they can refund some of the tickets on an order or all of them. If they do, the money goes back to the card you paid with.
Partly refunded orders
An order can be refunded ticket by ticket. The order then reads partly refunded: the refunded tickets stop working at the door, the rest keep working, and the amount returned is the price of the tickets that were refunded.
How long the money takes
A refund is issued through Paystack the moment the organiser confirms it. The card issuer or bank then takes its own time to put the money back — usually a few business days, and sometimes up to ten. That last part is out of our hands and out of the organiser's; we cannot make a bank faster.
A ticket that has already been used
Once a ticket has been scanned at the door it is spent. It can still be refunded, but the organiser has to take the code back first — a code that has already opened a door cannot be un-scanned.
What a refund costs the organiser
You pay nothing to be refunded — not a cent of the ticket price is kept. The refund costs the organiser, who carries Paystack's own transaction fee (which Paystack does not return) and a refund fee of R10.00 plus 2.5% per ticket refunded, never more than that ticket's own price. The figure is shown to the organiser before they confirm, and it appears on the statement they are given.
If you disagree with the answer
Write to us at info@electrotickets.co.za and we will look at the order, the ticket and the door record with the organiser. If you paid by card, you can also raise it with your bank or with Paystack — we hand over the same records as evidence.
